I know I wasn’t gonna do new journal comics for a week or so, but this one popped into my head yesterday when I was watching “Milk” for the second time. (The first time was on a flight from Rome to Pittsburgh.)

I used my friend Kate for the picture because she had an identical experience with “My Sister’s Keeper,” and she’s really fun to draw. I wish I were a better costume designer, as Kate has a quirky girly-vintage-chic thing going on in real life, and I’m a pretty unimaginative cartoon-clothier.

…So, I’m really counting down weeks and ports now. 3 weeks, 2 Vancouvers, 1 more Seward…By the way, can I just sing the praises of “The Sea Bean” in Seward again? They play everything from Bob Dylan to Baroque flute in the background, and it’s always cozy and tasteful. The coffee is good, the paninis are GREAT, the service is friendly, and the internet is limited only by one’s all-aboard time. Speaking of which, I have to go to boat drill soon…
