To be continued…

Heehee, I’m having fun with this one!

If you feel like geeking out with me over cartooning choices, read on:
In response to some feedback at Periscope, I’m trying to switch up my panel compositions a bit more. In the first draft of this cartoon, I was about the same size in each panel, and the “camera” was about eye level. This does nothing to build tension, create visual excitement, or leave room for vivid settings. That’s why I “tilted the camera” in panel 4, and pulled way back in panel 5 to show a dark and rainy night downtown.
Panel 6 was originally a closeup of the shoulder-angel, but I realized that the readers didn’t need to see her talking. They should know who’s talking from the dialogue and the word balloon shape. However, I needed to get my characters onto the bus and over to Burnside and 44th by the end of the page. By drawing the word balloon coming out of the bus, and drawing the bus crossing a bridge, I got a lot more information into that panel.
