This first panel was one of my favorites to draw. After months of planning the dialogue and artwork in my head, I was so excited to finally see it on paper! This was the money shot, right here! So I picked up a pencil…and realized that I didn’t know how to draw a cow.

I spent a lot of time at the CCS Comic Workshop searching online for reference photos. There were hundreds of side and front views of Albertina, the cow statue. The problem was, how do you draw a cow from that angle?! Finally I did a Google Image search for “cow tipping,” and found this:

That’s right, guys. Behind Panel 1 is a cat in a cow suit.
